While brutal force has been used to create Zionist Israel and sustain it thus far, Zionist claims to Palestine are false. Actually, from the five thousand years of known written human history, there has been a continuous Palestinian-Canaanite presence in the Holy Land. Despite the Zionist false claims, the ancient Israelites ruled part of the land for only 85 years (during the reign of Prophets David and Solomon , peace be upon them, and Solomon's son).

After that, the Egyptians conquered Palestine-Canaan in 925 BC, followed by Assyrians, Babylonians, Persians, Greeks, and Romans, before the Arab Muslim rule, starting from 636 AD.

By the Time Jesus, peace be upon him, started his mission, the three population groups of Canaanites, Palestinians, and Israelites were melted together in religion and language. Most of them became Christians when Constantine converted in 313 AD. Then, most of them became Muslims in the 7th and 8th centuries AD.

So, Palestinian Muslims, Christians, and Jews are the ones who have the right to claim descent from ancient Israelites, Palestinians, and Canaanites, not Zionists from other continents.

No matter what the Zionists and their supporters do, they cannot change the will of God, Who promised the Holy Land to Abraham and his descendants, basically the Palestinian Muslims and Christians.

No matter how much persecution and aggression the Zionists and their supporters inflict upon the Palestinian people, they will never be able to force them out of the Holy Land, which Allah, praise to Him, promised for them, and kept His promise ever since.

This is a necessary brief background to understand the US-Backed Zionist Israeli continuous wars against the Arab nation generally, and the Palestinian people in particular, which included the wars of 1948, 1956, 1967, 1978, 1982, the brutal crushing of the two Uprisings (1987-1993 and 2000-2004), 2009, 2012, 2014, 2021, and the current genocidal war on Gaza (Since October 7, 2023), which has culminated a blockade of Gaza since 2007. In addition, the Israeli occupation and apartheid regime launched so many covert operations, raids, and air strikes on many Arab states since 1948.

The following news stories are just examples, not a systematic record, of the Israeli occupation government abuse, mistreatment, and violations of Palestinian human rights, on daily basis.

90 Palestinian women and children released from Israeli occupation regime prisons

Monday 20-January-2025

WEST BANK, (PIC)

90 Palestinian women and children were freed at dawn Monday from Israeli prisons and were greeted by large crowds of jubilant relatives, friends and supporters as they returned home in the occupied West Bank following the release of three Israeli captives in Gaza as part of the ceasefire agreement, which took effect yesterday.

At about 1:00 a.m. local time on Monday, Red Cross buses carrying the 90 Palestinian prisoners arrived in Ramallah in the West Bank, where they were greeted by thousands of citizens despite warnings from the Israeli occupation forces that celebrations would not be allowed.

The freed Palestinians included 69 women and 21 teenage boys – some as young as 12 – from the occupied West Bank and Jerusalem.

Among them was Khalida Jarrar, 62, a leading member of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, who had been held for six months in solitary confinement under “administrative detention,” with no indictment.

In Ramallah City, a crowd of people lifted many of the freed prisoners up on their shoulders in an emotional show of support, while others carried the flags of Hamas, Islamic Jihad and other resistance groups, amid chanting and cheering.

Earlier on Sunday night, Israeli forces attacked hundreds of Palestinian citizens as they gathered near the Ofer checkpoint and jail in the southwest of Ramallah City, awaiting the Israeli release of the first group of prisoners.

A reporter for the Palestinian Information Center (PIC) said that Israeli soldiers fired volleys of tear gas canisters and rubber bullets at a crowd of Palestinians rallying near Ofer jail, pointing out that a number of people were injured.

The Red Crescent said that its ambulance crews provided medical assistance for seven wounded citizens during the events in the vicinity of Ofer jail, adding that two of them were evacuated to hospitals.

The exact number of Palestinian prisoners due to be released as part of the ceasefire deal is still unknown, with reported estimates ranging from 1,000 to about 2,000.

In the first phase of the deal, Hamas is expected to release a total of 33 Israeli captives over the next 42 days – with the next release due on Saturday. The second phase of the ceasefire talks is due to begin in two weeks.

More than 46,000 Palestinians have been killed since the Israeli genocidal war started on October 7, 2023, and over 90 percent of Gaza’s population has been forcibly displaced by Israeli evacuation orders and attacks.

First group of Palestinian detainees released by Israeli authorities under ceasefire agreement

Mu'hammed Abu Zaid/WAFA

RAMALLAH, January 20, 2025 (WAFA) –

The Israeli occupation apartheid regime released the first group of Palestinian detainees on Sunday night as part of the ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip.

The group includes 69 women and 21 children, with 76 detainees from the West Bank and 14 from Al-Quds (occupied Jerusalem). Hundreds of people and families of the detainees gathered in Beitunia, west of Ramallah, to welcome their released relatives from Ofer Prison.

Israeli occupation forces declared the area near Ofer Prison a closed military zone, preventing families from gathering. They used rubber-coated metal bullets to disperse the crowd, injuring three people.

In Al-Quds (occupied Jerusalem), Israeli occupation forces raided the homes of detainees scheduled for release, warning families against holding any celebrations or public gatherings to welcome their loved ones.

The ceasefire in Gaza officially took effect on Sunday at 11:15 a.m., after a delay of over two and a half hours due to Israel's insistence on receiving a finalized list of female detainees to be released.

Since October 7, 2023, Israeli occupation forces have detained over 25,000 Palestinians, including approximately 14,300 from the West Bank, including Jerusalem, and others from Gaza.

During the same period, 55 detainees have died in Israeli prisons, including 35 from Gaza. The authorities continue to withhold their bodies.

Since October 7, 2023, the occupation forces have launched an aggression on the Gaza Strip, which resulted in the killing of at least 47,035 Palestinians, including 17,581 children and about 12,048 women, and the injury of more than 111,091 others, while about 11,000 are still missing under the rubble and in the streets.

'Hamas congratulates its people and supporters on liberation of Palestinian prisoners

Monday 20-January-2025

GAZA, (PIC)

The 'Hamas Movement has congratulated the Palestinian people, the Arab and Muslim nations, and the world’s free people on the release of 90 Palestinian women and children from Israeli jails as part of the ceasefire agreement, which took effect on Sunday.

“The scenes of our people celebrating and making victory signs upon receiving the prisoners have reflected further the popular rallying around the resistance and highlighted its solid place in their hearts,” 'Hamas said in a statement on Monday.

“The massive crowds of our people who rallied to receive the freed prisoners despite the occupation’s repressive measures were like a declaration of defiance against the occupation and an expression of their thirst for freedom and the liberation of their land and holy sites,” Hamas added.

“The footage of the three female prisoners being handed over to the enemy showed them in full physical and psychological health, while signs of neglect and exhaustion appeared on the faces of our male and female prisoners — which reflects the great difference between the values and morals of the resistance and the barbarism and fascism of the occupation,” Hamas underlined.

“We stand in these historic moments in reverence and appreciation for the sacrifices of our great people in Gaza and our victorious resistance,” the Movement said.

Humanitarian needs have mounted to catastrophic levels; meeting even a fraction of these needs will only be possible through a rapid and massive scale up of global humanitarian aid into and within the Strip.

"We call on Israeli authorities to urgently ensure humanitarian aid into Gaza, medical evacuations and particularly access to the north which has been under siege since October 2024," it said.

Various initial estimates for Gaza reconstruction costs, the maximum of which amounts to $80 billion

Sunday 19-January-2025

LONDON, (PIC)

Estimates vary regarding the costs of Gaza reconstruction after 15 months of Israeli genocidal war on the besieged enclave.

In August 2024, the Bloomberg Network quoted experts as assessing the costs of Gaza reconstruction and restoring the destroyed labor market may exceed $80 billion, along with $700 million to remove 42 million tons of rubble.

In a previous report, the World Bank and the United Nations estimated the damage to the vital infrastructure in Gaza between October 2023 and January 2024 at about $18.5 billion.

Last October, the UN indicated that the removal of 42 million tons of aggregate left by the Israeli occupation aggression may take years and cost $1.2 billion.

In April 2024, the UN pointed out that the removal of the rubble will likely take 14 years, adding that the Palestinian Ministry of Health estimated last May that there were about 10,000 bodies under the rubble.

A UN report published in 2024 shows that rebuilding destroyed houses in the Gaza Strip may continue until at least 2040, and it may take decades.

According to the UN satellite data in December, about 69% of the buildings in Gaza, more than 170,000 buildings, were destroyed or leveled to the ground.

According to UN estimates, this statistic includes a total of 245,123 individual apartments, while the United Nations Emergency Relief Office said that more than 1.8 million people in the Gaza Strip currently need an emergency shelter.

A UN and World Bank report estimated that the infrastructure damage was about $18.5 billion until the end of January 2024.

UN-analyzed satellite images show that more than half of the agricultural lands in Gaza had been damaged due to the war, while the UN Food and Agriculture Organization said last year that 15,000 heads of livestock, more than 95% of the total livestock, and about half of the sheep were killed or died since the start of the fighting.

As for institutions, Palestinian data show that the war led to the destruction of more than 200 government establishments, 136 schools, 823 mosques and three churches.

The UN Humanitarian Office report showed that many hospitals were destroyed during the aggression, with only 17 out of 36 units partially operating in January.

Last Thursday, the World Health Organization announced that rebuilding the health system in the Gaza Strip in the coming years requires $10 billion.

OCHA says 92% of Gaza homes 'destroyed due to Israeli aggression'

NEW YORK, January 20, 2025 (WAFA) –

The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) said on Monday that 92% of homes in the Gaza Strip, or about 436,000 homes, were destroyed or damaged as a result of the Israeli aggression, while 90% of Palestinian civilians were displaced from their homes.

The WHO Representative in Palestine, Rick Peeperkorn, said: “The ceasefire announcement is a source of hope, but the challenge ahead is daunting.

He added that addressing the enormous needs and restoring the health system will be a complex and difficult task, given the scale and complexity of the operations and the constraints involved.

The ceasefire in the Gaza Strip came into effect yesterday at 11:15 am, after being delayed for more than two and a half hours, due to the occupation authorities’ announcement that it would not be implemented before receiving the list of female prisoners scheduled for release.

Editorial Notes about terms & names of people and places:

1. Names of people and places have been standardized to match standard Arabic grammatical rules.

2. Underlined letters and letters preceded by an apostrophe are references to Arabic letter sounds, which does not exist in the English alphabet.

3. The English letter i is equivalent to the Arabic short vowel known as kasra, as in Ibraheem and Qasim as well as in the English words sit and bit. So, it is incorrect to use it as a long vowel for such Arabic names as Jameel and Jibreel.

4. The English letter e is equivalent to the Arabi short vowel known as fat'ha, as in A'hmed and Mu'hammed.

5. It is more accurate to refer to the
land-grabbing Israelis, who establish illegal settlements in the Palestinian territory of the West Bank, as illegal Israeli settlers, than referring to them as colonists.

The term colony is a reference to a large entity or a country, such as American states before independence. It was also a reference to Egypt, and India, when they were British colonies.

In addition, the term "colony" represents a positive nostalgic theme, in the minds of native speakers of English, particularly in America and Britain.

6. It is more accurate to use the verbs "abduct" and "kidnap" than the verbs "detain" and "arrest," in reference to taking Palestinian citizens by force to prisons and interrogation centers, by Israeli occupation regime soldiers. This is because the presence of the Israeli occupation regime forces is illegal in the Palestinian territories, and they have no jurisdiction over the Palestinian people.
